Erbium Pixel Skin ResurfacingConveniently located to serve Fairhope and Mobile, Alabama

At PR Medical Spa we are proud to offer patients cutting edge treatments to improve skin tone, texture, and elasticity. Through fractionated technology, our Alma Pixel Erbium laser offers amazing results with little downtime and faster recovery than other resurfacing lasers of its kind. This procedure replaces old, photo aged cells with new, rejuvenated cells by stimulating collagen remodeling thus leaving skin with an overall healthy, more youthful appearance.

Erbium Pixel Resurfacing

Our most popular areas of treatment include the face, neck, chest, and back of the hands. Pixel Laser can treat and improve the following:

  • Superficial pigmentation
  • Reduction of melasma
  • Improved skin texture, firmness and elasticity
  • Sun damage, photo-aged skin
  • Collagen production
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improvement in scar tissue and scar visibility

How does it work?

As the laser emits a pulse, it is divided into multiple beams that create tiny thermal injuries to the skin while leaving the tissue surrounding untouched. This allows for quicker healing time as the healthy, untouched tissue promotes stimulation and collagen remodeling for fast, easy recovery.

What to expect:

Our medical aesthetician will customize your treatment based on the area and what condition is being treated. Prior to treatment, a topical anesthetic is applied for approximately 30 minutes. The skin is then cleansed and dried thoroughly. As the laser treatment is delivered, you may feel a heat or warm sensation. Most patients tolerate this with minimal discomfort.

Post treatment, a “pixel” pattern is left on the skin surface. Patients develop redness and may feel as though they have a sunburn. A post treatment balm will be applied to your skin and should be continued over the next 3-5 days. Swelling and redness can occur, but will subside over the next few days post treatment. As the healing process continues, a flaking or peeling affect can be observed. Full recovery with new, healthy skin occurs within 5-7 days. Sun exposure should be avoided especially in the weeks immediately after procedure. Because sun exposure should be limited, erbium resurfacing is most popular during cooler fall and winter months.
