CoolSculptingConveniently located to serve Fairhope and Mobile, Alabama
Med Spa at the Park is proud to offer CoolSculpting to our patients along the Alabama Gulf Coast and surrounding areas. While we offer cutting-edge and outstanding results through surgical body contouring procedures like liposuction, CoolSculpting offers a non-surgical way to contour your body by safely and effectively freezing away fat.
This innovative technology utilizes controlled cooling to target fat cells beneath the skin, offering up to a 25% reduction in the treated area. These cells die and are then eliminated in weeks following treatment via your body’s natural elimination processes.
Which Areas Does CoolSculpting Treat?
Though there are a variety of areas CoolSculpting can be used to treat, the following are FDA-approved:
- Flanks (Love Handles)
- Upper Back Fat (Bra Fat)
- Lower Back Fat
- Upper Arms (Triceps)
- Inner Thighs
- Outer Thighs
- Underneath the Buttocks (Banana Rolls)
GETTING READY FOR COOLSCULPTING
Since the CoolSculpting procedure is completely non-surgical, patients don’t need to make much of an effort to prepare for it. However, we still recommend doing a few things that will help you recover from the procedure quickly without experiencing complications or prolonging minimal side effects.
Exercise and eat a healthy diet during the preparation phase. This will help your body maintain a consistent weight without adding any excess fat. The more stubborn fat you have, the harder it is to get rid of it with CoolSculpting. Remember, CoolSculpting isn’t a procedure that’s meant for obese or overweight individuals.
During a CoolSculpting consultation, you will need to express your expectations and goals to our experienced esthetician, Tabitha Enfinger. As part of the consultation, Tabitha will perform an examination and let you know if CoolSculpting is right for you. You’ll be able to ask any questions you have about CoolSculpting.
Tell Tabitha about any medications or supplements you’re taking. Typically, aspirin, ibuprofen, St. John’s wort, and gingko biloba should be avoided before a CoolSculpting procedure. You should also avoid alcohol and cigarettes since they can cause inflammation that may prolong minor side effects like bruising.
IS IT RIGHT FOR ME?
The best candidates for CoolSculpting are healthy and don’t have any existing conditions. If you have one or more of the following conditions, you may not be eligible:
- Chronic pain conditions
- Active implanted devices like pacemakers
- Allergy to isopropyl alcohol or propylene glycol
- Cold agglutinin disease
- Raynaud’s disease
- Pregnancy and/or breastfeeding
- Paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria
- Diabetic neuropathy or other nerve conditions
- Dermatitis, hives, or other skin conditions
- Affected skin sensation or blood circulation in the targeted area of treatment
- Scar tissue or recent injury sustained by the targeted treatment area
- Chronic use of blood-thinners
What to Expect
During your treatment session, the treatment area is cleansed with a specialized skin wipe. A gel-like protective pad is placed on the area, and then a customized applicator is applied. During applicator placement, you will feel a tugging sensation that may accompany cooling, slight stinging, pinching, cramping, or burning.
Each area treated takes 35-45 minutes. Most patients use this time to read, catch up on e-mails or phone calls, or rest and relax. Once the applicator and gel pad are removed, your CoolSculpting specialist will massage the area for a short time. Doing this immediately after helps to break up fat cells and increase treatment efficacy.
After treatment, your body utilizes its own natural processes to eliminate dead fat cells. Patients may experience numbness, tenderness to the touch, or a tingling or itching sensation that will typically subside in a few weeks.
When Will I See Results?
CoolSculpting is non-surgical and may require multiple treatments to achieve maximum desired results. Each treatment application can yield up to a 25% reduction of fat in the targeted area. Results can be seen as early as 3-4 weeks, with optimal results seen in 3 months. Once an area is treated with CoolSculpting, fat cells are permanently eliminated.

No one can compare to expertise I experienced with Dr. Park
I have had plastic surgery by 2 other doctors in this area, one who is highly rated in your survey, and no one can compare to expertise I experienced with Dr. Park. His staff is excellent also. I felt I was being cared for by family members.
