1. Be informed and aware: Breast augmentation is a surgery. Gather genuine information, decipher your own need and have the right expectations.
  2. Consult a qualified Surgeon: Validate whether the surgeon is:
    1. Certified by American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) or American Board of Cosmetic Surgery (ABCS)
    2. Possesses the experience, expertise and access to an accredited medical facility.
    3. Provides complete guidance for choosing the type of surgery (under or over the pectoral muscle), type of implants (saline or silicone), type of incisions and also full disclosure of post-operative recovery.
  3. Follow all precautions: the patient must adhere to instructions by the surgeon for a prescribed period before the surgery. These include:
    1. No consumption of tobacco, recreational drugs i.e. cocaine, heroin, meth etc.
    2. Zero consumption of aspirin and some anti-inflammatory and blood thinning drugs.
    3. Follow all other precautions specific to your medical condition.
